The knees of new Joe Rocket pants are moostering up the lacquer on my tank. Nothing that can't be buffed out but still.

Looking for a tank protector of some sort - my first thought was a Scotchcal kit, and I swear I saw one once but I can't find it.

Anybody seen it?

I saw somebody installed the knee pads off an old Bonnie or something on here, but I can't find that either. Not sure that's how I want to dress that Carnival Red tank, but I'd like to have another critical look.

check out my photos in the member area if you like knee pads,
(i cant upload them from that area to here because of run time errors and im not on my cpu)

i would fully reccomend them, they look perfect, fit perfect and function perfect

i was having hte same issues with the paint and didnt want to eventually have to respray

i used the triumph pads they make for the america/speedy
they are very easy to fit and match the base line of the tank perfectly
if you like them and cant find the triumph reference number just ask.

I have the Tank Slappers - thin. I also tried the -thick. Even with -thin I need some heat. But, I like it.

They are absolutely beautiful on that bike. I'm not sure about my red tank, though. I love the practical application and prefer it in theory to the film solution, but I'm just sort of hesitant to do the black-on-red thing.

Is it removable at all?

CORRECTION:

I have thin Gripsters on the sides and a Tank Slapper on top. Total clear is the TS. Applied carefully
it is almost invisible. It comes off very easy. Uses Static Cling-ons but not around Uranus.

I use the fuzzy velco along a credit card edgee for the squeegee. Go real slow, with all effort to one area like they recommend,
before you move on.

Also, I start in the middle, like zolti did. Keep it wet, so no fingerprints.

they come with a self adhesive backing so you can try them against the bike before you peel the protector off and stick.

As its an accessory that a few dealers carry i just talked a dealer in brummie to open the packet so i could try it against the tank.
you could get them mail order if your nowhere near a dealer, carefully open the packet and trial them agaisnt the tank if you dont like them send them back.
i think there is a fair ammount of black anyway on the side of the tank where these would go on the two tone bikes so it might blend well

they will come off in a similar fashion to the tank badge if you had stuck them down.
