When i was a kid my old man could strip a engine down find a faulty washer and put a million little bits together and do it blindfolded .. he was always saying Paul come here learn how this works , Paul come out i'll show you how to mend this fix that , would i do it , would i hell .
Now has a adult who can only just change a wheel and even then likely to strip the nuts . JEEZ I'M SORRY I NEVER LISTENED .
Good on ya , wish i had them skills , I just have to work harder to pay the dealers $130 an hour , while they drag out a 2 hour job to 4 hours , and then tell me there doing me a favor cos they smacked my arse lightly cos i'm a good customer

Any how got the jump pack out, that was also flat, tried to jump it from my work van and was having a knight mare with my leads, in the end jumped it from the car with next doors leads, 3 things to do tomorrow night after work, 1: order new battery, 2: charge Jump pack and 3: fix my jump Leads. after all this messing about it was 10AM, after some spirited riding i caught up at the first stop, cafe for breakfast
we then headed out up North Wales and all was well, we had done 140 or so miles and we all separated to go home, i had a run of 50 miles on b roads to do.
got about a third of the way and looked down at the clocks to see the engine and coolant lights on, pulled over straight away and had a look over the bike, i could not see any coolant in the top up tank, at this point i thought i must have a leak and have lost it when riding, i was not stuck in the middle of know where i could find water but no tools, the lower tank is only to allow the engine to suck up water when it looses some, if you have none left in that tank the only way to get water in is via the main fill under the tank, either way you need tools, not a very good design at all
at this point i had no choice but try and limp on, restarted and the engine light was still on but the coolant one was off, got about 3 miles at it was on again, i called the wife and arranged to meet here half way with tools and water, i limped on to the meeting point as it would take here an hour to get to me, i stopped every time the light came back on and gave it 10 minutes.
i got to the meeting place and waited, as promised she pitched up with water and tools,
in a school carpark i stripped the bike and got the tank off, opened the fill cap only to find coolant, at this point i was confused, i double checked and it was all good, i managed to get about a eggcup of water in but thats it, i then moved onto removing the lower chrome cover that hides the tank, once off i could also see coolant, the problem here was it was over full, this meant you could not see a level agains the marks on the side window, from the side it just looked empty, my coolant it light green as it was changed when i did the big boor and through the white tank it was very difficult to see, it would have been fine IF i had no over filled as the top level was in view.
at this point i stood back and had a think, i knew i had water so i checked the connection to the temp sensor and put the bike back together, i was no happy it was not low on water to i decided to ride on home with the wife following, after a fuel stop i made it back.
whilst the lights were still on i hooked it up to diagnostic(tune ECU) got Error P0118 Temp Sensor Open Circuit or Shorted.
Triumph set the overheat light to come on with any temp sender issue, the engine management light alone should have been enough, the over temp light just confuses matters, overfillnig the bottle did not help though
It seems i am another victim of the Temp Sensor failing, from now on i am carrying a small tool kit as i could have found this out a lot sooner than the 2 hours it took in the end.
