If you've read how i felt about them, he basically mirrored what i have said many times....great sound, a very nice gain in power, bike runs smoother. Not sure why it makes the bike smoother, but it does and big time. Over 80 used to be pretty bad if not intolerable. Now it's smoother up there than anywhere else, and all other areas are smoother than before too. The only part i was wrong on is the weight i figured there had to be a minimum of 15 or 20 Lbs savings, but only 8 Lbs overall.

It's a type of torque around the center of mass. 8 pounds is a lot when it's far from the datum point....low, as well as back. Handling was a dream and now better.
Putting them as part of the purchase deal makes sense. It's the only part where there seems a willingness to deal.
Also, I felt it was a struggle to go 80, vibrations were immense and daz pointed out that it could be associated with the pipes. But, it wasn't just the vib. it seemed to be pushing to get to 80. Now with all the extra noticeable torque, 80 to 90 is just a few seconds....smooth seconds.

so far mine has the stock pipes and getting to those speeds (mph ) 2up is no problem whatsoever and with little vibration! puzzling .... but i do recal mat saying his new bike isnt as quick as the demo one he had, maybe thers sommit in that however for me its around the 5k rev mark that it seems to be strangled.

I dont know what it was on my first Bird that made it quicker. My new one is the same in every way even the pipes are of my old one. Maybe this one will 'loosen off' when I get to the same milage.

However, if the shorties smooth the bike out some, cool
This post has me thinking about the shorties some, but I can't get my mind off the D&Ds

I never got much vibes there even before the shorties. It was right AFTER 80 that it started. now i'd say it's smoother at 75 or 80, but not by a lot. After 80 tho it was probably twice as vibey as before 80 and now it's actually less. It feels like a electric motor over 80. It was a real surprise.
