Hey Birdy, if you're going to go to the trouble of having some made why not design them such that the leather bags effectively replace the side panels? They could even be fitted with spigots to locate with the existing grommits.

That's exactly what I'm talking/thinking about
Existing bag as is - with a small flap covered pocket at the forward position/grommit.

Outer flap pocket...what an idea farm this is becoming.

Then I like the way you're talking/thinking.

Might just have a go at making some myself. I've got a fair bit of leather knocking about from disused bike jackets (been down the road too many times )

Best money I ever spent.

I like them even better full. This side is weather liners for my coat and a water bottle. The other is "roadside."

- qt of designer coolant, mfg.
- garbage bags
- heavy gloves
- 6 ft of 16 gauge fence wire
- roll of electric tape
- roll of duct tape
- tire plug kit
- Co2 inflation
- 2 space blankets
- multi-tool

Engage ,
check out the NationalCycle threads, they are making available soon several versions of screens for the Tbird. I am looking for the sam solution as you and I believe the Switchblade Deflector model will be the one.

Birdy, the bags are cool, but do tell about the tank emblem. I hate the stock one. It's the only thing in the pics that caught my eye.

It sure would be nice to have a more effective and less expensive solution. Keeping my fingers crossed ...

I realised - I didn't get back to you with the dimensions of my Ponnybags

Here you go: (X, Y, Z)
25 cm X 23.5 cm X 9 cm / 9.8in X 9.2 in X 3.5 in

The cat - Tinka - loves to just sit with me while I tinker all day on the bike!

Leave the pork pies for now - get the sausage rolls while they're hot!

nice...I'm glad you got that color. I thought I was getting a beige..not the best with red. But, they arrived a nice
almost pink color. I'm now looking for a UV protector something that won't change color and won't let the sunlight
change it either.
