Date  :  25/07/2009 Posts  :  293 Location  :  United States Posted : 01 Oct 2010 - 16:02   Post title : Did it. ordered a Corbin Fairing, but reversed the color scheme with silver on black   after a lot of thought, and the reality of not wanting a batwing harley clone look, I talked to the tech reps at Corbin: no problem, they can reverse the colors of the silver blog on their website. gonna be the guinea pig here. then I am going to explore a quick release mounting system for it. will post pictures. and a full wind-buffet report. its starting towards frost here in colorado, and the full screen just does not do it. so its going to be reversed colors with black field color and a silver stripe. less phlegm and more gem I hope. 2-3 weeks fabrication time. I think the look is good. Not for everyone, but, the pictures don't do justice. He had the Corbin dual seat with it and was very happy. When I told the technical sales rep I wanted to do something different about the colors.... she was understanding.. the phlegm-blob look on the web site left me cold, but then I thought of the reverse coloration, which is what I did with my Davida helmet.... and what the heck? if it makes my colorado riding a month longer spring and fall then its AOK!! and with the right leathers, we get a lot of 40-50 degree days even mid winter. bags come next if I can figure out which ones best match the black with silver stripe or just black... no not need more silver on a silver/chrome bike IMHO. my other bike in tucson: I am thatcherizing that one. tee  Author  Post     Gonzo  Chaac Reg. And have you tried talking to Corbin about them doing some bags for the Bird? They make them for a lot of other bikes, now. Gonzo Hey Gonzo, I spoke with someone from Corbin a few weeks ago... they are in R&D now for Beetle Bags for the Thunderbird. They couldn't give me a date for release, though... just said to keep checking their website. I live very close to Teebird and have asked if I can hang out with him when he installs the Contraband fairing as I'm VERY close to ordering one up for my 'Bird, too. I'm sure he'll be kind enough to post photos when it's installed, right Teebird?   2012 Storm (SOLD!)
