Does anyone have this option on their T bird? I have a little over 6 thousand miles on my bird and find the stock bars are just a little to far away for my liking... so I now have two options... get a set of risers to get the bars a little closer or go with the long cable set and the beach bars...

Looking for others perspective on the two options.

Thanks!

Dick

this is a recurring simple fix.

Take your hex wrench.

Loosen the caps on the risers.

rotate the bars forward or back to your exact position.

retighten.

I can not believe that everyone has not had to find their own sweet spot this way.

I have monkey arms and rotated out for a perfect comfort position when heading into the winds at 70 miles per.

each little "stop" in the bars is about a quarter inch or half centimeter rotation.

Just make sure you pick a fully-engaged position so its does not roll back.

then the two grips need to be releveled to compensate for the roll.

The techs set to their own arm length on assembly, or some other preset.

easy cheap complete.

I have already tried this, but with my corbin seat/back rest I find to sit in a comfortable position I can only fit my finger tips on the handle bars so I still need and extra few inches pull back, according to the web site the Wide Handlebar position is 21mm lower, 30mm wider and 81mm closer to the rider... I found pictures of a bike with the deuce risers from fast eddy's site but they just don't seem like enough for me.

ditto on the risers...another 1" in the 45 degree down and back direction. I'm still on the stock with 1/8" clearance for the paint.
If I got a Corbin, I'd have to thread new bars...

Hope they get their act together on the next bike as far as the bars go, dont like the look of the risers,
have my stock bars pulled down a little but still that little stretch too far.

Particularly noticed it on a week long road trip recently and when in a head wind not what id call comfortable
and not something I would tolerate long term.

Well... I solved my problem. Added a fairly large pad to the backrest. It pushes me up closer to the tank. The riding position is perfect, lots of low lumbar support! I also have way better control of the bike, it is amazing what a slight shift in sitting position can do. would have been nice if the seat were a little different, but eh! it works.

I own the SE model which comes with the touring saddle and an optional 6 position adjustable back rest which I also invested in.Ya turn a little numbered wheel,[1-6] and each click or number, moves that back rest forward approximately 1 inch for a total of approximately 6 inches. If that doesn't work, then either you're way too tall or way too short and probably need a different machine altogether.lol I have a pretty good reach so I have the back rest set on #1 position which is all the way back and is quite comfortable for me allowing me to easily and effortlessly reach the bars .In the number 6 position, the back rest has to be at least 5 inches or better, closer to the bars which is ideal for you ladies and gentlemen who are challenged at reaching the bars comfortably.Dave!!!

Same here. I keep the seat back on #1 and I fit the bars perfectly. Before the install I found myself pulling back on the grips and not being comfortable after 45 minutes of riding.

So far I've made two fairly decent rides, one approximately 260 miles each way and the other a little over 300 miles each way and was NOT fatigued at all.So that says somethin about that seat and back rest combination.Whadaya think??? Dave!!!

On my 1600 SE I got the extended cables and the Deuce risers from Eddie. IMHO they look and work great. At the demo days in July I rode a TBird with the beach bars and have to say I am very glad I did not go that route. My bars on my VN900 were very much like the Triumph beach bars but not quiet so out there width wise and I had Phat I risers on it.

What are the beach bars?

I have the wide bars on mine and have to say it suits me fine. Clear view to the rear (std mirrors) with no funky chicken moves required to see

Have done some long stints (no backrest) and it's just sooooo comfortable.

Yep, if you have a reach problem then the Deuce risers from Eddie are the way to go. I have the same SE model.
I'm 6'1 with a decent reach and didn't like the original bar position. The Deuce risers bring the bars back perfect for me.

Hope this helps.
