Whatever you lose by disconnecting the battery will be lost the instant you disconnect power. No harm in that. Whatever settings that are lost (time, trip mileage, etc.) will be reset to default values.

Question ! Is your bike a factory 104--- 1700 ?? is a 2010 ?

I had a 1600 in 2009 and added the big bore kit, factory 1700 wasn't an option.
@Lee. And tires last a long time too! ...I'm saving her for the Black Hills Rally (Sturgis).

Don't forget that tyres deteriorate with age.
