| Posted : 08 May 2021 - 04:55 Post title : LED versus 100w Halogen headlight | | I'm about to do a side-by-side comparison of headlights - in the shop, against a whiteboard. Lights are mounted in a jig about 3-feet apart, powered by a 12v 40A power supply that will show current draw of each. Jig is ready, PS is ready (modified with 50A meter), all that's left to do is remove headlight from the T-Bird and see what happens.
Fuse in headlamp circuit is 15A, so together - Bright's on - they can't draw more than 30A (guessing around 20). Should have results soon.
(Fire extinguisher is ready, too, BTW ;-) standby....

| Experience is something you get just after you needed it 1600,Foran Razorbacks, Meerkat bypass, Dyno tune, real headlight,plenty of chrome,switchblade pegs, Nitron R3 shocks & Ikon progressive fork springs etc. Scorpion Western Low handlebars. PH adjustable fork caps.

No brand, no stickers, nada. Don't know if it can compete with the $400-$500 Denali and JW posted earlier Link or those on Eagle link from PapaSmurf Link Test might be a washout, dunno 'till I try. Really difficult to judge while riding, and hard to know how well the LED is seen in daylight.

During the day I would aim the JW at a commercial building w/dark glass...you'll know.
