I was out riding yesterday and my oil pressure warning light came on. once on, it stayed on most of the time, but would go off on some corners and went off on one hill. I took the bike right home and checked the oil thinking it was an oil level sensor, but the oil level was fine. I started the bike again and the light stayed off.

Went out today for about 50 miles and no light.

I called the dealer and they are going to call Triumph to see if Triumph wants them to check anything.

Only thing I can think of is water from the storm I rode through on Tuesday.

Any thoughts?

very well could be. Do you know where the sensor or wires are? Might check the manual if you have one and see if it's in a place where water could have obviously shorted it for a time till it dried. That seems like the likely reason anyways.

I don't have a service manual, but it is time to order one. However, the storm I went thru was pretty intense, I suspect every inch of the bike was wet.

Did you hear any valve chatter? If not I would say the sensor or the wires were giving a false warning. The shop manual is a must. I bought one with the bike and consult it often.

I just haven't seen the need for a manual or diagnostic device yet. I'm very mechanical, but with new vehicles I usually just leave them alone and don't bother with a Service Manual until they are old enough to require service. This is where I am with the bird. Other than the coolant leak, this is the only other issue I've had and I'm inclined to let the dealer deal it. I am very much a if ain't broke, don't fix it kind of person.

That said, I will get the SM sometime soon (and will consider Torque as well). My bike will be out of warranty next June and at that point, I will start doing most maintenance myself. I would also like to have all the torque specs. since I should be double checking critical bolts after service.

Went out for a long ride on Friday. No light. I'm thinking this was water related. This bike continues to be very reliable for me - it even fixes itself.

Ask and you shall recieve. Or, one good turn deserves another, either phrase will do

Anyways, i don't have a scanner, but i have a camera and i shot each page of the torque specs and uploaded them in a zip file. I'd have just emailed em to ya, but there may be others w/o a manual so i figured i'd upload them. By the way, i wrote the Ft Lbs next to the Nm specs as you can see. If that bothers anyone you can erase them in a photoshop type app.

And actually my friend that i sublet from has a scanner, but i haven't yet learned how to use it and she doesn't know either. If i ever do figure it out i may scan more than the torque specs. It doesn't seem to work but i may be doing something wrong.
