Hi Folks,

I'm on the verge of buying a set of the Hardstreet Slimbags and I really appreciate all the very good photos that have been put up on the forum to date. But every one of them (that I can remember) has been installed in conjunction with the Triumph Passenger QR Backrest.

Has anyone installed the Slimbags using the EzyBrackets WITHOUT the QR Backrest?

Apparently the EzyBrackets for the backrest have longer bolts, right? This would then push the bags out towards the back, right? Well without the backrest, and hence the shorter bolts, does that mean the Slimbags would be positioned closer to the bike? As in, too close? Would the bags be hitting the turn signals?

The thing is that I would like to have the bags fitting as close to the bike as possible. (Has anyone ever seen the Corbin Beetlebags on a bike? Amazing.) Hardstreet have been promising to release a set of their Slimbags suitable for the HD Sporty which are not as long as the standard Slims. I'm thinking those would fit tight to the bike without needing to relocate the blinkers.

If anyone has the Slims without the backrest, I'd really appreciate some photos. Or if anyone has tried the Slims with the shorter bolts from EzyBrackets and knows that it doesn't work, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks,
Gonzo

Hey Eddie,

Yes, Birdie explains where the bolts are attached (perfectly) but that doesn't help me know if the "Position B" setting (without QR Sissy) will pull the bags (which are very long and start at the springs and end right at the end of the blinkers) in towards the bike, so much so that the bags might hit the blinkers.

I suppose I could fit one of the brackets and just put a ruler against the bracket and see if it clears the blinker.

Still, if anyone has direct experience, I'd love to hear from them.

Cheers,
Gonzo

I have the Easy Brackets without the sissy bar. Here is a picture with the Easy bracket on the right side of the picture and the Triumph bracket on the left. The Easy bracket does bring the bag a bit closer: Link
