I have had my bird for nearly a year now .A screen, touring seat ,backrest ,sissy bar and Givi top box were added from new .I would like a set of hard panniers ,but for some reason Triumph do not make hard luggage for the Thunderbird .I like the look of Hardstreet Slim Bags but can't find a supplier in Scotland .Has anyone in the U.K. fitted hard panniers to their bike ,and if so where did you get them from ?

Spooky, and welcome,

Just wondering, have you seen a thread in this place where a guy has put some GIVI Hard Case side boxes onto their 'Bird?
Look really nice, and it would most probably match your Top Case!?

I'll try to find the thread for you... Hang on...
*goes off to do a search*

EDIT:
Here you go matey - it over in this thread: Easy Brackets and Givi E360

Hey Spook, welcome to the forum.

I too like the Hardstreet Slimbags. If you get hold of "fasteddy" on this forum he will be able to help you. best prices and great service.

He went out of his way to help me and another Aussie get some Hardstreets for our bikes.

+1
He sorted me out with the Easy Brackets and Willie & Max Saddlebags
but you want hard case... so forget the Willie & Max. BUT the easy Brackets are the dogs....

These are from Fasteddy from this forum and they are fab - Easy Brackets combined with Tsukayu hard bags. Eddy is one of us so he will take care of you and has a range of option to choose from.

Good luck with your choice.

BTW Meeting up with a mate of mine from Aberdeen (he rides a Triumph Speedmaster) at the weekend. He's comming to the Triumph Live event in Mallory Park Some good riding up your neck of the woods mate.

I think I'm going with these. The eddy man has the best price, service and understanding. He owns this bike and helps
test the gear. If fact, we all do and suggest things for eddy....the supplier for the Birds.

Spooky clown.
Like you I want hard lockable bags for my tbird. It looks like there is a choice of two, the Hardstreet or the Tsukaya both with easy brakets. I have rear dresser bars fitted (which I dont want to remove) so I am swaying more towards the Hardstreet set but I like the shape and extra space of the Tsukayu bags. Triumph bags are 22lts each Hardstreet 23ltrs each and Tsukayu 26ltrs each. Bluenose (on this site) has been a great help to me but I have still not made up my mind or placed an order yet. There are no suppliers in UK that I am aware of so they have to come from the states (so remember to add import tax and VAT....approx another 21% to cost). Fast eddy 9also on this site) does seem to be very helpful and comes back with answers to question you may have very quick, I had a PM from him yesterday and I know that he is on vacation for a week so if you send him a message just bear that in mind. let me know what you do and add some pictures of the result. I'm living just down the road from you in sunny Kilmarnock. Regards Fatboy

I have fitted the Hewpco & Becker C-Bow system with the Strayker bags - excellent quality.

Motobins are the sole UK importer.

Hey Eddie,

Can I ask how much shipping ended up being? That often seems to be the deal-breaker with many an overseas purchase for me.

Most probably - mine did - so I (well the dealer actually) placed a strip of clear protection film on the fender:

I've exchanged the larger tool bag/roll since, for a small one.

Mine did same so i fitted some clear tape then changed it for a cheap shiny black tank protector, the type that fit on sport bike tanks to stop my gut rubbing the paint off...........works a treat and looks neat (cut down obviously)
