I have a new Thunderbird 1600 SE A1 with leather saddle bags. Can anyone tell me what you use to treat and waterproof your saddle bags? Looks like some riders caught in the rain got alligator lines on the saddle bags.

I also have the SE model. I use a product called ACE IT. It's a spray on purple liquid in a pump bottle that you can use on 100% of your bike. And I do mean 100%. It makes the bags, seats, backrest look brand new but NOT slippery like Armorall. I've been using it for about 5 years now. It was all I used on my America and now I use it on the TBIRD. Two coats or more of it on chrome and you can't put finger prints on the chrome.

Hope this helps. Check out the link And, no I am not affiliated with them! Just passing on the word of a good product.

I too have a brandy new SE A1 T bird bought two months ago.I used Armorall wipes on the leather bags, the seat, and both backrests. It cleans em,makes em always look new,and protects em from the elements. I wipe it on,let it dry,and wipe any excess off with a clean soft rag.It works for me. Dave!!!
