Well, I burned up my OEM Metzler's and I must say... I have never had such bad cupping on a front tire EVER! so... I started looking for my favorite tires... Avon I have a Cobra on order...

Found they have the correct size

I'm very interested to see how you like them on the Tbird compared to the metz. I'd like more mileage tho not at the cost of even a drop of stickiness.

I am interested as well. My Metzler's cupped so badly that it sounded like the smoke monster on Lost when I turned.

Is the 200/50ZR17 and new size for them? I thought that size was hard to come by.

Same here. In fact, i couldn't find anything in that size last time i looked, at least not among the tires i was looking at. I've heard some really good things about michelin power pilots which have a harder center tread and softer edges for corners and supposedly last well. But of course the rears stopped at 190. I will look at tha avons next time i renew.

I push it hard the sweepers and twistys and they feel better the the metz ever did and with the 200/55/17 the extra height means don't drag as much and the speedo is dead on now

With the bigger tire do you notice the gearing change?

Hey large...could you give a photo of the Avon rear ...I'm interested to see what the 200/55 looks like on the bike. The lower profile of the Metz looks good IMHO. If the Avon 'looks' the same, i may give it a try.

thanks in advance

Lou

Yes, it does look beefier...I like it. Is it me or does the bigger tire look like it fills the rear fender better?
