Ventura now offer an aerodynamic luggage system for the big twin that offers huge carrying capability and is a more affordable alternative to the factory's leather panniers.

I'm really happy you are finding all this stuff for us Lee !
I might vacation with the bike next summer and now I know I won't need to buy the leather panniers. I have (cheaper) options

nice alternative to saddle bags, but since I have the detachable Triumph backrest and mounting points installed I don't think their rack would fit unless I removed the backrest mounts. Do you have this system installed?

i like the idea that the weight is balanced similar to a pillion, that the system has variable options regarding racks and that from what i can see the bars dont look like scaffolding, kinda tidy
but for me the the missus would sit a tad high

No - it's from the manufacturer of the baggage system.

No, but I'm currently looking in preparation for the July/August BA.com EURO Rally (4 day trip).

Nice find. Looks like a pretty well engineered system. Not as cheap as all that, though. In US prices, the L brackets are $159, the rack that holds the bag is $90, and bags range from $150-200ish. And if you ever plan to ride without the bag, you'd need to add the "grab handle" for another $30 (the bag rack looks pretty silly naked). So the basic system is about $460, plus $20 shipping. Which, yes, is less than the Triumph bags/brackets, but it's not holy-crap cheap. I saw "from £53.00" and got very interested...

What I don't get is why they don't make a padded sissy bar to snap into their rail system. It doesn't look too hard to add something to the grab handle, however, so that would make it a replacement for the Triumph bags+brackets+sissy bar, which makes $500 a lot easier to live with.

emailed Ventura and got a very thorough answer as to how they mount. Cannot use with the Triumph removable sissybar. Their hardware is only designed to work on the bare bolts on the fender stay. Cannot fit with hardware from sissybar installed. see below

Thank you for contacting Ventura. We apologize for not responding sooner as we have been very busy and I have spent quite some time researching your question.

First, this fitment has not yet been confirmed for the 2010 model but you may know if there has been a change since the 2009 introduction of this bike.

I have attached our fitment instructions for this fitment, which do not give specific instructions for mounting with any of the factory accessories as some of our other instructions do. i.e. backrests, panniers, top boxes. This just means that when the manufacturer in New Zealand was designing these L-brackets the bike they used was bone stock with no accessories as they usually try to make our system as compatible as possible with all available options.

I have been unable to find good pictures showing the mounting plates for the backrest to see if they will in fact obstruct the mounting of our L-brackets. Based on our instructions and the photo's we have of this bike outfitted with our system, it appears that any accessory bracketry mounted at these points would in fact be in the way.

Our brackets cannot be spaced any wider or narrower than originally designed to as this would not allow the luggage rack to fit properly into the L-brackets. I assume that this would also be the case with a backrest mounting bracket as any wider or narrower would not reach the backrest properly as well.

We are not positive but this system may not work with your backrest. Please review the instructions and give any additional info on your backrest that may lead us to more pictures or instructions which may help us determine compatibility.

We have not sold or stocked a set of these L-brackets yet, so if ordered they will not be available to ship to you until 2-3 weeks from now. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for your interest in Ventura and ride safely.
