Hey fellas, it's time for a back rest or a seat/ back rest combo. I have read some older thread s but wanted an update or possibly another company that will make a t- bird seat.
Any suggestions? I am 6' tall

While searching, consider a "good" kidney belt for back support. You may be surprised.

And another suggestion from fasteddy

Your bike is looking crisp as usual. How do you like your cruise control devise? When I was riding with Daryl, his back rest was spring loaded which felt good. What's your opinion on the FE ?
I see I don't have many options unless I am willing to buy another seat with the back rest.
I put together a seat from Corbin. $ouch$ but I did like the color combo, ox- blood and black with tan piping.

...not my bike but a pic from fasteddy's website. Anyway complements are always good
Last I checked, FE sells a backrest mod for the stock Triumph seat.

and my Thunderbird

no oil leaks

Rich, how do you find the comfort level?
Does it's position find that sweet spot on your back?

The comfort level is very good (after a reupholstered seat, Airhawk, and suspension upgrade). A kidney belt would add to that and a good backrest goes a long way. I'd like to know backrest options for a solo seat too (something to consider down the road).

How about the cruise control, Rich does it work well?
As I mentioned, I was putting together a solo seat with a back rest. You can design a beautiful seat if you are willing to pay the price for a Corbin. I just might decieve myself into justifing the need for one. In my region a heated seat is a nice option. I like riding all year if I can.

I have a corbin single seat with back rest,I love the seat and the back rest on long rides.I only use the back rest on long rides .
I have had the std seat, the long haul solo, long haul duel seat with back rest(the back rest is useless if you ask me unless you modify it)
have sold all the other seats except the corbin .

Fab if you get a chance, please post a close-up pic of your Corbin w/ backrest.

Seats are like windscreens...$$ until you find something right.

@ ray, what cruise control...are you referring to the throttlemeister?

Thanks Fab. I don't mind the single long haul but without the back rest it wears me out on longer rides. I am tempted to go for the Corbin, and like the idea of having your own color choice. I just might have to click the submit button and enjoy one

Ray, the Throttlemeister is good on the flat lands. The nice thing about it is that you can set it loose and still adjust your speed . Not very helpful if you ride in a group .

I had a Mustang solo w/ Mustang backrest on mine...not sure if they still offer it. The backrest slides into a premade slot in the back of the seat...be careful when shopping, though, as they offer (offered?) both slot and no-slot solo seats, so you need to be sure to select the correct one to accomodate the backrest. The backrest had both vertical (up and down) and horizontal (forward and backward) adjustments, so you could really dial it in to your sweet spot...I liked mine a lot.

Also acts as bar end weights! I use it mostly on the interstate to rest my hand, overall good to have.

I use a Corbin twin seat, with fully adjustable backrest.

Can only recommend it, nice sitting, nice support.

Thanks to all, very helpful. I do think that I will go with the Corbin. Color(s) selection can keep you at the seat configurator for hours to say the least. The bird is Red Marble Haze. I do like the ox blood color but it only comes in vynal. Good for side panels but not the seat. There is a red bomber color in red similar to ox blood that I just might go with. I will try and post a pic as to ask for suggestions
Thanks again for

I am not positive that I will go with the ox blood stud strap, maybe black. Any suggestions?
Also the seat not be red. If any of you have the time and inclination to design one and post your own creation then please do so.

Ray, a word of advise.

The colors and design on Corbins website, don't always show the truth.

Back-check with Corbin, sending them a file with your chosen design, and have them confirm that that is what you get.

Good advice Kim.
I now think I will go a bit more conservative.
Meaning a black seat with ox blood sides tan piping. I do not want the the seat to be centered stage, but a compliment of distraction
Maybe one day=
