Hello,

I am new to this forum, and only found it having ordered by Thunderbird SE, which arrives tomorrow.

I have noticed some members talking about Crash Bars, but can't find any information about where to buy them, they don't seem to be on the Triumph Website in the UK. Can anyone help?

By the way it is nice to read threads on a forum where people are being positive sensible and constructive, please keep it up.

Hi and welcome. The bars are on the Triumph website somewhere under accessories. Will post a link when I find it.
Good choice of Bike.

Well, thank you. The SE has floorboards, if I remember. And a heel shift? IAC, that's where you might have some conflict.
But, without the boards, front bars fit.

I have front and back bars, but no floorboards...works fine except for very quickly dinging myself on the back bar, throwing the leg over.
Pain has cured bad habits without effort it seems.

Why even have them? Are they only for dress? Funny term, but there is no boot or bonnet, to contend with, so we live with it.

I was a bit -big bike- worried, and ordered them with the bike. It didn't happen. But, I was careful, I didn't fall over. Some have. This bike feels smaller than it is until you let it drop out in a U-turn, say. Are bars for sliding down the highway?...nooooo, but, some have.

I put on my bars, eventually, and I now practice very slow, cone pattern stuff. For fun. Sometimes I fall over. Chrome is very hard.

crash bars and motor rodeo...is coool. But, that's not me, yet. He's probably not thinking about the grocery list.

Only thing I would add (apart from welcome bud ) is highway pegs are great (for me) on long journeys (done over 700 in one shift) as me old knees need a bit of help after rugby league and football knackered them! Way too dangerous motorcycling way safer.

yep, so far, I've only been hurt by horses. Some like the riding position of boards, it's only OK, for me. I''ve not ridden these however.
I have SwingWings on 8840s w/fasteddy adapters. Best for me...and the BlueNose has got that right. I'll hang pegs on the bars, also.

For me, many riding postures work best in the long haul. I'm getting a backrest, also. Still can't decide..Triumph or Corbin?
Solo or dual? Life's tough...

The only thing I can say about the Crash/Highway bars is good lucking getting them. I had a set on order for over
2 months and all Triumph would say is back ordered with no projected delivery date. I finally just canceled the order.

Thanks for pointing me in this direction, I have bought these bars, and hope they are okay.

I assume that as my bike is an SE that the rear Crash Bars / Rear Dresser Bars do not fit as the panneiers will be in the way. Does anybody Know?

The back edge of the rear bar lines up with the front edge of the shock. So, the bar is completely ahead of the shock.
Some bags and panniers I've seen can be installed without covering the shock.

I also ordered front and rear crash bars and the rider's backrest when I bought my SE two months ago.Package deal. The rear bars, along with the riders backrest [nice piece of work by Triumph, btw,],came in three weeks after I bought the machine. The front bars just came in this past Saturday.I put em on as soon as I got home. When you get the front bars, you'll note that there is a horn included with the kit. This threw me a curve until I tried mounting em in place.[There are no directions with either the front or rear bars. It's trial and error but easy enough to figure out.] Anyways, the new horn replaces the old horn because the design of the old horn interferes with the left bar where it's mounts to the top part of the frame.hence it has to be replaced with the new horn provided.Piece of cake. The bars are 1 1/4 inch bars which should protect the machine and your leg should the machine go with you on it, and really dresses the front end. Dave!!!

Would there be any chance of posting a picture of the rear Crash Bars fitted, with the panniers in place, as I can't get my head around the layou / fitting.

Stock horn seems louder, so I just bent the bracket, and it fits.

Also, all accessory instructions are on-line at: Link Glad you didn't need any for this.

The crash bars are the same whether the machine is an SE model or a conventional T bird or whether they have saddle bags or not. The frames are the same. When I was considering the T bird,I looked at both, the standard T bird and the SE model which comes with the bags or panniers as you guys call em,the detachable windscreen with a lock, the detachable back rest and luggage rack, also with a lock, the touring one piece saddle, the floor boards for both passenger and rider, the heel toe shifter, and ABS.The SE also has a built in passin lamp switch already installed above the high/low beam switch on the handle bars. Now I don;t know if that comes on the standard model or not.I didn't notice when I looked at the standard model.Anyways,I priced the machine out both ways and by buying the SE model, I saved over 3 grand. The crash bars, riders backrest and passin lamps are add on accessories and don't come standard on either model. And unfortunately, the SE model only comes in red.The black machine shown above with all those accessories is a standard model T bird with all those accessories added. And it's way more expensive if ya buy it that way.But if ya like black, which I do,ya have to pay thru the nose when ya buy all those accessories and either install em yourself or pay an unholy amount of money to have em installed if you're not mechanically inclined. But for the difference in price,I'll force myself to like the red color on the SE model. lol Dave!!!

Thanks for posting the pics, i can see exactly where the rear bars fit now.

Put the fron bars on last night, and they look good, managed to adjust the Horn bracket to keep the original horn rather than the pathetic one which came with the kit. The only thing I would recommend to others, is be very carefull where you bend the original brackets, as it can make the horn cables a little tight. I had to cable tie them to a pipe to take the tension off.

Anyone got any reasonably priced rear dresser bars, or riders back rest for sale?

the replace horn is a twinky pinky little dinky.

not a basoooooka horn like a real bike should have.

whynot put a pink basked on the front if you like the replace horn.

this was the FIRST BAD VIBE i got from triumph.. pathetic POS.

I bent and went
with original sent

and tossed the replacement
that was built from a childs bike.

jjjjj
