Quick question peeps, I have the large touring screen but I personally think it spoils the aesthetics of the bike and the buffeting is fairly bad, so heres my question........................Did Triumph make a short twin headlight version cause I can't seem to find one anywhere, see plenty for the 1600 single headlight version but non for mine?
Though about having mine cut down by professionals but if that don't work I'm screwed

That looks pretty good, how does it perform from a buffeting point of view? and how do you get it to fit? I thought you could get one for the bird, whats the difference between both of them?
Oh yes, just looked at the dart for the bird and the rocket one is quite a bit bigger and works better I would think, where did the fork brackets come from to mount it?

(Re: Fuknose) | | I have the same on my Rocket...the mounting brackets come separate thru Triumph, i have chrome, not sure about the black,....quite costly but look good and i find that particular flyscreen does keep the wind off your chest....it deflects stones too on the odd occasion. i Still get to eat bugs tho... There is an outfit who do the same screen but with different finishes such as skulls, wolf heads and the like...you might find them via google.
Here tis....

(Re: Fuknose) | | I found out too late that the touring screen was going to be annoying on my storm....It was too high - it broke up my eyeline, as well as caused nearly unendurable buffeting. What I ended up doing was cutting it down by about 5" - I'm now very happy with it.
However, that's a lot of money to spend and then take the risk of cutting it up....I prob wouldn't have if I'd known.
Also, Dart makes a flyscreen FOR the storm - I have one - it's okay - not much buffeting. But much less wind protection, obviously, than the touring screen (even the cut down one).

(Re: Fuknose) | | I bought the fork clamps online, 49mm and some 20mm wide 1mm Black neoprene to make them fit Clamps ??20 Rubber ??4 Pack of black 6mm dome nuts ??3 Pack of black 8mm dome nuts ??4 Black screen fixings eBay Chrome brackets powder coated black Screen and brackets from triumph ??85
I get no buffeting Slight amount of wind on my chest but none to my crash hat Works really well, I can still hold on at 145mph and it's really good up to maybe 110mph
Biggest problem I have is keeping my feet on the pegs at 120mph plus, Kevlar pants seem to act like a sail ????

So I bought a national cycle fly screen. I didn't like the fork clamps and could not use them because I left the OEM wind screen hardware on. I did figure out how to mount the screen with out the fork clamps

I thought of cutting mine down but the risk of f**king it up is to high, expensive bit of kit to test that out on
Do prefer the rocket fly screen to the dart, looks more substantial and higher to hide the satnav behind it

He has a screen but wanted to cut it down so he got busy and cut it....cocked it up bigtime so he had to get a new one, this time he cut the BOTTOM away. Because of the shapes in the top, it made it difficult to get it right by cutting the top. Cutting the bottom off worked a treat and looks real nice....just like the original but shorter. Of course the bottom bracket also hides any cut marks or uneven lines that may result from cutting.
