then I cut off a 4 inch long piece of 3/8 black heater hose, softened it up in boiling water and pushed it on over the little peg, with 1/2 -3/4 inch stick out past the ball end.
its grippy on the toe of your boot and you don't really see it. and it costs almost nothing
