| Posted : 28 Aug 2010 - 02:57 Post title : Exhaust volume | | Okay, I hope this isn't a dumb question. My next mod will likely be a new exhaust, and I'm considering TORs or the D&D exhaust. My concern is the volume levels. I've listened to them both in video clips, but there's really no way to judge how loud they are. I'd like something substantially louder than stock, but not obnoxiously loud blat-blat Harley straight pipes loud. Anyone able to comment?
Also, I just ordered the Hardstreet Slimbags. It doesn't look like either the TORs or the D&D will interfere with the bags, but if anyone has pics of this setup (particularly the D&Ds), I'd love to see them.
Thanks, guys!

There are a handful of members here that have the pipes. Check out the D&D sticky thread.

An advantage in several European countries where noise regulations are both increasingly stringent and increasingly enforced. Another advantage IMO is that Triumph dealers have or should have the proper, factory-prescribed tune (mapping) to go with the TORs, which may not be the case with all aftermarket pipes (my experience with the Rocket III, at least).

I actually prefer the TORs but have not been able to come up with a mounting yet to clear the Tsukayu hard bags correctly.
The D&Ds also run a lot closer to the swing arm... if you like the pipes "splayed" as the are stock, then the TORs are for you.

ewwww... .but stainless is soooo much better. :)
I just hate getting a crack in the chrome and having a part disintegrate, which seems all too common with exhaust. Stainless was a big selling point for me. Best of luck what every you choose though.

Roger that. Just a note about the TORs, they are pretty darn heavy.

I guess I could have been clearer about my question...while I don't want obnoxiously loud, I DO want something much louder than stock, and it sounds like the TORs are not that. The D&D's might not be either. The BCs sound nice, but I don't care for the way they look (although I DO like the weight savings). The sound clip of the Razorbacks sounds pretty loud, maybe too loud, but they don't suit my taste either. Raask is too expensive. Ugh. Maybe I just need to wait for more options.
