After months of waiting the phone call came, announcing the arrival of my spotlights. After collection I downloaded the 18 pages of instructions. What's this? Quote page 15: "!Warning Never ride an accessory equipped motorcycle at speeds above 80mph....."

If I switch them on will the speed be further reduced?

Good job the max limit in the UK is 70mph, so I'll never know what the affect will be.

...and they'll not be going on tonight. This is not a quick spannering jobby. "Remove screen/wheel/mudguard/front forks". I can see that we are going to bond intimately tomorrow.

Now I'm REALLY glad I got my MotoLites! One bolt on each side and run the wires into the headlight housing. Do you have to rotate the shocks too?

They must have hired the design guy from Lucas.

Does the Big Bore Kit carry the same warning? It's a bit embarrassing having to have a Qualified Triumph Technician remove and refit my locking fuel cap at every garage.

First, all foreign companies are scared to death of our idiotic court system and its ridiculous awards in frivolous law suits, so they go out of their way to use disclaimers to try to protect themselves. Some foreign companies even refuse to sell in the U.S. because of our legal system.

Second, they are referring to accessories that might disturb the handling characteristics and/or airflow at higher speeds, like windshields and saddle bags. They just err on the side of being overly cautious and put the warning on everything they sell.
