I found a set of long TOR's for my 2010 and just looking to mount without any other mods. May eventually do air filter, etc. I think I read every thread on new maps, etc., but did not see anything on just adding the TOR's without a new map. Any issues with just replacing stock with TOR's without any new map?

you can but you will run a little bit lien on the fuel, you would be much better off loading a TOR tune into the bike which is very easy to do with a laptop and a cable.

Add the K&N filter, Thunderbike filter intake cover & you'll notice a significant difference, definitely go with the TOR tune & cat delete if you want. I have the Meerkat crossover, but with "Zard" pipes & with just the right amount of back pressure, with no audible decel pop. With your set up you will have significant "pop" or backfire on decel, especially going down a steep decent.

Thanks for the replies. I looked at the K&N and filter intake cover and also getting rid of the cat with simple elbow pipes. I have never run a map off of a laptop so just a little hesitant to try something. I guess I will just need to buck up and figure out how it is done.

tuneecu is very very simple to use, if you can run windows than you can run tuneecu. don't be afraid, come over to the dark side

Ha - I'm 62 years old - I still remember using a rotary phone! I do work with technology but I try to not have it interfere with my hobbies. It causes me enough pain at work. I just like old school stuff. Of course I can screw that up also.

I found detailed instructions on triumphrat.net and ordered a tune ecu cable. Once that is here I will get to work. I can always have my son-in-law come over - he works in tech support.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I am 51 and i remember those phones as well as party lines! this is a good site, when you get your cable let us know we can walk ya through it, changing from regular to a tor tune is very easy. And i know what you mean but once i got the hang of using PC for tuning i would never go back to carbs!

Ha - a trip down memory lane. I remember party lines. One phone in the house. One TV - black and white of course. 4-5 channels. We had one of the first remotes that physically moved the channel changer knob - it made a big clunk every time you pushed the clicker. The good old days!

I appreciate the help on getting this set up. Just put the TOR's on tonight. Couldn't wait for the cable. For once I would say adding an accessory was easy. Had the old off and the new on in about 30 minutes. No hassles at all and they actually had alignment marks! I started it up and let it idle for about 10 minutes. Nice deep sound now.

To all - thanks for the offer of help and I will definitely call upon your assistance.

Your bike might have secondary air injection (SAI). If it does load the stock tune for TORs with SAI.

I do have SAI. I will use the map with TOR's and SAI. Will be riding first time with TOR's and no remap this morning. Just couldn't wait to put on those pipes!

might want to do the 12 minute tune as well won't hurt until you get the tor tune installed.

Or plug the SAI under the tank, take the redundant bits out and delete it in the tune.

Per Daz

"Another thing you could try before you do that is the 12 minute tune. You start the bike without touching the throttle and let it idle. It will take about 15-20 minutes till the radiator fan comes on, and when it does keep track of the time and let it keep idling for a full 12 minutes after the fan kicks in. Make sure to never touch the throttle during the procedure and total time will be around a 1/2 hour. What it does is reset adaptions then determine certain factors and change them. At times minor issues can happen that are in software and will be reset during the 12 minute tune"

I went through the detailed instructions for downloading the software, downloading the drivers, installing the drivers and now trying to find a map. I can't get the maps to open. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

One possibility. When you download the maps, you are downloading zip files. You have to unzip them to get the actual hex files out. These are what you open. You don't need drivers or cable to read a map into the program. What happens when you start the program?

I will pick this up tomorrow - heading to McCartney concert now. I did unzip the files but have not hooked everything up to test it yet. Will give it a shot tomorrow.

I have decided to let this go until after my trip to Colorado. I am taking the TBird out there and plan on doing some riding. Any issues with leaving as is with the long TOR's without any updated tune?
