Predators or Hogslayers. I have the Hogs.. and love them.. but I think the Preds sound slightly better. But I prefer the looks of the Hogs.

That is probably the most subjective question ever asked on the forum, especially if you're looking for advice for your bike.
We all have different tolerance levels for noise, like different looks etc.

If you're taking a poll, I like the stock mufflers and cat bypass, but I'm probably in the minority.
I had a Legend TT that was 1/2 debaffled and the noise got on my nerves after an hour or two.

Hi Judagar, I previously owned an 09 tbird and ran with stock mufflers, cat removed and airbox opened up..(NO SAI/BLOCKED OFF)
you don't have sai to worry about, was 1600 then 1700 and it sounded great to me and others as well, ran with the 1700 triumph tors tune
Nice burble on decal and minimal popping so I left it at that for 4 years with no problems at all, cheers, Tadpole

Hog Slayers - best quality sound with minimal pop on decel

Short TORs with cat bypass - loudest but plenty of popping

Even if V&H made pipes for the Bird I don't think they would give a better sound then all the above due to the configuration of the Birds motor.

You could always have custom pipes made however you won't gain much more then what is on offer other then the cosmetic look

You're so off the mark. What dyno map and bypass made this assessment? ...best stick to your harley.

I never spent the money on power commanders and dyno etc.. Just had the TOR tune as 2 of my mates have on there birds. Both their bikes pop like crazy like my old bike did. Only know what I have experienced. I'm sure it could be improved by playing with the tune but I think the original question was what are the best sounding exhausts. Yeah I think I will stick to my Harley but doesn't stop me from having an opinion considering I ran 4 different exhausts on my Tbird - more then most.

Enrich the fuel on the tune a couple of notches in the the low end...should fix the popping or at least improve it ....short tors.

Sorry God. I'll try and stop offering advice from personal experience. I'll make sure I run it by you first. But since I'm sticking to my Harley I thought this would be a great opportunity to post another picture of my HD for you all to admire

Had short TORS,
Then Short TORS + Meekat which alter to a bit deeper sound.
Now Razorbacks with bypass, IMO best sound and looks, but that's it...my opinion.

PS nice photo Dan, you're centralised the bird beautifully.

I like the Dyna, nice and sleek, but it makes the T-Bird shine even more.

Ran short TORS without a CAT with Platt bypass and with just linked pipes, both dyno tuned, both popped on deceleration. It's all opinion, mine would be, that setup is too loud for me, and the popping gets on my nerves. I'm considering a custom set without the CAT but with high flow mufflers. The stock TORS with CAT setup is smart IMO but there are a few kg's to lose and the CAT is a little restrictive.

I think i will stay with the short TORS, still got the cat on ...sounds good, but then again i don't like exhausts to loud. (deaf enough as is)...

It's all subjective, but the perfect compromise to me is no cat and (shriek!) stock exhaust.
Throaty rumble without popping/banging on decel or obnoxious noise on accel.
Besides, you've already likely got all the parts!
There's plenty of guys around that'll give away their stock mufflers if you need them and ask nice!

Yeah your spot on Lee. My mate covered all the tins in plastic-dip flat black to see what it would like but as he found out, Plasti-dip doesn't like petrol so he had to peel the tank coat off. Other wise its a good product I reckon. I sprayed my full face helmet with it. When I get sick of it I can just peel it off and go back to the original paint job underneath.

Ok, thanks. Would it make a good anti stonechip coating for long trips? Does it come in clear?

I'm not sure but I have considered it myself. I was going to do my lower fork legs before my next long trip. I'm not aware of it coming in clear though. For $20 a can you have very little to loose and everything to gain I reckon mate

I've got the clear film kit on the tank and I made some for the chrome fork lowers too which has kept it fairly good, was just curious.
