I have been working with a fellow from the forum here to come up with alternative tie down options for the Thunderbird. So far the Bungee rack and now a spool that fits on the shock mount. For the guys who want to strap things down and not worry about wrecking your hardware. I had posted in another thread about this but in the interest of people being able to find it, thought I would title it appropriately. These two items work well together or independently of each other. Just some options.

On my old VStar, I had found a tie-sown. It was soft on the bottom, fake leather on top, had 4 large permanent D rings, and it went under the rear pillion. It was unobtrusive and easy to use. I've since been unable to find it. I'll try to dig something up...

There's also bungeemate.com....

Well, we can sure make some for that location.

Size,

they are not huge in size but yes they stock out, utilitarian item more than cosmetic.

This is what I had on my Vstar- what a pain to find online if you don't remember the name! It worked very well! I see pics of newer styles now- this is the one I had, but they now come longer for wider pillions, and some now have black d rings. I'm thinking of picking one up for this bike.
