Wear proper safety equipment, & observe standard shop safety. Tighten all hardware to factory torque specs. If you are not completely comfortable with the installation, have your JackBeQuick installed by competent professional mechanic. For easier future disassembly, use suitable anti-seize compound on bolt threads. Install the Rear Bracket before installing the front bracket. Standard (With or without Catalytic converter) Rear Bracket Installation
1. (THIS STEP IS NOT REQUIRED ON MODELS WITH NO REAR CAT, INCLUDING COMMANDER OR LT) Using a 5MM Allen socket, remove both right exhaust heat shield clamp bolts and remove heat shield. Set shield, clamps and bolts aside for reinstallation. In some instances, the left heat shield may need to be rotated slightly to avoid interference of rear clamp bolt with JBQ bracket. If so, then loosen both left hand heat shield bolts, but do not remove. 2. Using 14MM socket, remove left and right passenger foot peg/floorboard mounts (2 bolts each side) It is not necessary to remove pegs/floorboards from mounts. Set assemblies aside for reinstallation. The bolts will not be reused. Commander & LT may need to remove or loosen mufflers to access these bolts. 3. Use caution sliding the JackBeQuick bracket up from the left side. Watch for interference with left rear heat shield clamp bolt. Loosen and rotate clamps if necessary to avoid interference. Loosely insert two new mount bolts. Use the M10X50 in forward/higher foot peg mount hole and M10X40 in aft/lower hole. Hand turn a few threads to ensure Jack-Be-Quick is in proper position on left side. It may be necessary on Commander & LT to loosen the mufflers to insert the lower bolts. 4. Using 12MM socket, remove the bolt behind the right muffler supporting the rear of the catalytic converter. (Non Commander & LT) The bolt will not be reused, but the large washer will be reused. 5. Slide the Jack-Be-Quick bracket up; leg with third hole on right side. On the left side, loosely insert two new bolts. Use the M10X50 in forward/higher foot peg mount hole and M10X40 in aft/lower hole. On models with TOR exhaust, it may be necessary to loosen left muffler at rear hanger and catalytic converter connection in order to facilitate JBQ insertion. Hand turn bolts a few threads to ensure Jack-Be-Quick is in proper position on left. 6. Using supplied M10X50 & M10X40 bolts and M10 washers, install right foot peg/floorboard. Finger tighten the two right foot peg/floorboard mount bolts a few threads. 7. Insert supplied M8 X 40 bolt with M8 washer into lower hole on right side, through the Cat grommet. (Note: If the Standard bracket is being used without the catalytic converter, use the rubber grommet and washer assembly from the cat as a spacer between JBQ & cat mount bracket. Finger tighten the bolt a few threads. 8. Using 6MM & 8MM Allen sockets, tighten the three bolts on the right side of JBQ. 9. Using 5MM Allen socket, reinstall right exhaust heat shield using stock bolts and clamps, and tighten left heat shield bolts if previously loosened. 10. Remove the loosely installed bolts on left side of Jack-Be-Quick and using M10 washers, reinstall foot peg/floorboard. and tighten the bolts with 8MM Allen socket.
