Went down to Alchemy Custom Parts Link , just off the A1 at Letchworth. Primarily to look at some touring tail packs. They've got a large, eclectic range of bags, aimed at cruisers and a fascinating display of cruisers of all kinds, sans Tbird. Plus a clonky website (the owner, Roy, explained they were having a new site constructed).

He had some American pipes in, for the Tbird.....and I've lost the details!! £500 is all I remember.

bought this: Link
and ordered this: Link
They're not cheap but superb quality. Roy appeared to be very knowledgeable about the Tbird 1600 and was busily pointing out a vast range of bolt-on custom products, often cheaper than Triumph, that he had tried with R3s & Tbirds.

The pipes are D&D and normally £545. If you go, ask for the Kuryakyn and Highway Hawk catalogues, if you haven't already got 'em. They've got one of the best pannier displays I've seen. I would've got the pipes but I've bought spotlamps, seat, Grantour bag, 2 x helmets and an intercom this week and the back tyre's looking past its best. I'm wondering what a kidney's worth nowadays.

My new Commando cost less than those pipes. Eee, when I were a lad.

That 'll be when they laid the foundations to them there triangular things in desert and Tutankhamum was just just a twinkling in his mummy's eye!

Try Mick at www.customcruisers.com he might be able to save your kidney and settle for just one of the kids.

When I used to cadge 50p (10/-) off my mother, fill the tank, drink beer, buy fish & chips and cigs on way home.

When the Government gave you money to go to uni/learner bikes had unlimited capacity/Insurance was £5/cruisers were predatory homosexuals

I have the Triumph rear foot boards on mine if you want to have a poke around (take em off measure em etc) your more than welcome.

You need to be careful re the position if you have bags and/or rear dresser bars. It was a bit of a faff to find the right position on mine. But then again my wife is a short arse

allo mate. the idea of the rear footboards is to stop here boots from marking the exhausts & swingarm covers.

That will work but....

Dependant on position you may find you end up getting marks on the pulley cover instead
