| Posted : 08 Feb 2016 - 23:52 Post title : Re: Exhaust (Re: kafer5) | | The base T-Bird and Commander have different exhausts, but as with most things, if you throw enough money at it, anything can be done! Your catalytic converter is just forward of the mufflers. The Commander 's is up front in the header pipe. What is it you're looking for? Just the looks? Plenty of aftermarket mufflers out there.

| Posted : 18 Mar 2016 - 10:47 Post title : Re: Exhaust (Re: kafer5) | | Kafer5 - there are a ton of options, but the conversion to the LT/Commander exhaust isn't one of the...at least not easily or cost effectively.
Do you have the stock pipes? In order of "sound" and appeal, it probably can be summed up like this:
Triumph Long TORS Triumph Short TORS BC Predators BC Hogslayers D&D (they've got a few) Dave Platts Forans RAASK Others?
The Forans are my favorite, but very pricey...if you can find some now. I'd say the BC and D&D options are probably tied in cost/sound. Dave Platts are nice, but if I recall correctly, a tad more cabbage than the BC/D&D options.
RAASK are stupid expensive...and I don't know of anyone on here that has them.
If you have the stock long pipes, you could try "punching" them out, and/or getting rid of the cat (just use elbows....search here for options).
Exhaust options are plenty, but opinions are too. So trial and error usually is the name of the game. Which is why I just went with a cheap set of Short TORS (from the classifieds here), and will be adding a Meerkat bypass setup (classifieds here) soon.
If you wait until June, you get yourself over to the Bennington Triumph Bash and you'll be able to hear a dozen or more other Tbirds to see what ones you like the best. You can't get that anywhere else. See my link below or go to the "Events" section on here.
Good Luck, Jamie

There's also Staintune ( Australia) for about $1600.....pricey but nice, and Zards, about a grand which are nice too.
