| Posted : 16 Jan 2016 - 23:51 Post title : front wheel removal | | hi, just purchased a fenda extenda for my thunderbird, its the new one thats fixed with sticky pads that save you having to drill holes in the mudguard. they advise you to remove the mudguard to fix it properly. can anyone tell me the best way to lift the bike up so i can remove the front wheel. as there are no frame rails i really dont want to jack the bike up under the sump. any idea whats the best way to raise the front of the ground. i was thinking had anyone ever used a chain hoist with lifting straps around the handlebars. any advice will be gratefully accepted.

Or you could google "Becker bike lift" and see what they have...

It's a relatively common size for axles on motorcycles and all the multi fitment spindle keys I've ever seen include it in the range of 17, 19, 22 and 24.

PS I later shortened it to 1 nut and welded it to the bolt cheers

There are many places that sell em and the prices will vary.So BUY ONE! You won't be sorry!! Dave!!!
