Just last week on the way to work at 6 AM there were areas where the cold was bad enough that my helmet's chin strap felt like i had been punched in the throat. So i finally decided to search till i found a leather one because leather is the only thing i find keeps me warm. And i found this dirt cheap and with a coupon code got it for 18 bucks shipped. I bet this will work great. Link

Now if i get a pair of heated gloves, which i AM considering, i bet i can ride a good 10 degrees colder than my typical limit. With traffic here in L.A. getting worse by the day i wanna ride to work more and more. What used to take me about 17-20 minutes to get home now takes a minimum of 30 and up to 45 and even more on a bad day. On the bike i can knock off 30-50% of that.

And I'm gettin OLD.And I'm a poet and I know it.

I used to use several types of jackets, some very thick and warm but on my bike they would leave me cold. Got a leather one and i was able to ride in far colder weather. Thats because it breaks the wind unlike anything else, but it must be lined so it doesn't touch you. This thing being fleece lined should be great, i have no doubt. But all it really has to do is break the wind because thats what numbs my neck is that wind chill.

My hands were nearly numb yet my neck and face were as warm as my torso. Theres only one problem, and god knows what they were thinking when they did this. But the velcro on the back straps is placed as tho your neck is expected to be a larger diameter than a gorilla's. It's so loose like that it is unusable. However, i had some of that sticky back velcro and just added a strip in back of one side. But just like i thought, leather works fantastic. The fleece lining as i suggested kept the cold leather from touching my skin and on a morning cold enough for my hands to be as cold as i can stand, my neck and face would have normally been so cold they would hurt but instead were so warm it may as well been 15 degrees warmer out. And that bib goes into your jacket seals all wind out extremely well. It literally would give me a 15-20 degree colder window that i can ride within if not for my hands and legs. If you need something like this, i think this is the one to get. Just make sure you get some velcro or relocate the velcro thats there unless you have a neck like a linebacker.
