I currently have a Quick Detach Roadster Screen (was on the bike when I got it) that makes the bike look......I dunno....less attractive. I was considering the Dart Flyscreen since they are about $150 and they make the bike look pretty sweet. I am 6'0" so keep that in mind. Wanting to get something that is functional as well as making the bike look good. Thanks!!

I have a Storm and have the Dart on my bike. I also had one on my Speedmaster. For me they've worked great. I'm 6' 3". The Dart keeps the wind off my chest and I don't feel like I'm getting pushed off the back of the bike at highway speeds. But to be clear that's really the only protection it will give you. If you're looking for more then the Dart won't fit the bill. But if you're looking to make the ride a little more comfortable and provide a mini bubble for your mid section then it does its job quite well. I did mess with the angle a little bit by adding some washers to the mounts to angle it up slightly to get the wind to hit me in the helmet instead of the neck area. It's a very clean flow of air and doesn't give me any sort of buffeting at all. In the colder weather a larger screen would be nice but I do like the look of a smaller screen and I don't do a lot of long distance touring on the bike. For me a long day is 250-300 miles so anything more than that at highway speeds and I'd probably look for something bigger. For day to day use it's perfect for me. Just my two cents.

Great response!! Thank you. I am also considering the National Cycle Switchblade Deflector, but it runs about $320 with mounting hardware. The plus side with that is I can get other screens that work with the Switchblade hardware. Price is still $320 though....ouch.
For the sake of info I am near Madison as well (Stoughton). We should grab a beer some time.

I like it and it does just what was previously stated. I have the dart on a Speedmaster, I like the national better.
I have invested big money in the Triumph shield on my Commander, I guess it's a mid screen, they only list one for it. I can see over it. You guessed it, too much buffeting
So if I had the do over option I would go with something much smaller

Definitely! I ride out that way frequently. One of the guys I ride with the most lives in McFarland so we usually end up heading out through Stoughton depending on where we're going. I'm likely done riding for the winter now even though the weather is still nice enough to ride. With the kids needing attention after work, the sun setting earlier and holiday weekends coming up I've just run out of riding time. Sad but true.

I'm 5'8", and it does take some wind pressure off the chest area, but I noticed a bigger difference around my helmet at "normal" speeds. I can look around with my full face Shark up to about 120Km/h, after that, it's not really effective at blocking the wind at all. As for flies, uh, not at all, still take lots of bugs on my visor. I have a Clearview sitting in the box right now, until I get the mounting kit. It's probably about the best looking full screen out there. I personally don't like the big panes of plate glass that some of them look like, but I get their functionality. Once I get the Clearview mounted up, I'll let you know what that's like.

(Re: Atikokan) | | I fitted a dart screen a few years ago and just completed over 4000 km's at our last flocking when driving at highways speeds 110 - 130 kmh and it works great taking pressure off your chest and breaks up the wind up over your helmet without causing any handling problems and looks good IMO.

(Re: Snyperx) | | I have the QR screen set up on my storm, I cut it down about 2" because its a monster of a screen and I am only 5ft 8. I like it on the long haul but would really like to be able to mix and match without to much drama, first thought was to see if I could find brackets either for the R3 one of manta one that could also go on the OEM QR brackets that are on the bike, other option is, do you think the brackets for the manta or other (when fly screen removed from them) would still fit behind the QR triumph screen when mounted? then it would only be 4 screws or what have you to swap them in and out. Just a thought.

FYI I've been told the Rocket 3 OEM fly screen will bolt right up to the Commander , but I'm sure the fork width is wider on the Commander vs the standard bird,

Doesn't keep you dry but does keep pressure off the chest area and no turbulence around the helmet. Looks nice and tidy for a screen too. Handy to put the satnav behind.
