| Posted : 09 Nov 2015 - 09:32 Post title : Mirrors | | Hi Guys Just wondering if anyone knows of any mirrors with longer arms. I'm a little fat bloke and when i ride all I see is my arms, I fitted risers to see if that would put the mirrors up higher but,,,,it put my arms up higher too ffs. I find I have to move my head to see whats behind me, not real safe. I have considered bar end mirrors but the bars are wide and I'd probably need a "wide load ahead" sign duct taped to my arse if i fitted them. Any help would be appreciated

I'm a thin bloke, and that's all I could see too. You could use a piece of 1/2" copper plumbing pipe as an extension. Mirror stem fits in perfectly. 8" piece extended mirrors 3" Drill/tap/screw and epoxy to hold in place. Would be a lot nicer chromed, but it's getting impossible in the U.S. to have that done. (EPA regs)

I see guys with these little tiny narrow mirrors so they can look coooool. If they pull out in front of a TT unit and it runs em over cause they couldn't see it comin,I'll bet they won't think they're so coooooooooooooool then!! Dave!!!

Any pictures that you may have seen on here in my posts or profile were taken and or posted by some one else, not me.However, someplace on this site is a picture [taken by the dealer I bought my bike from]of me standing next to it when I hit the 50,000 mile mark, and the mirrors can be seen in that picture.I'm pretty good at working in the trades, but unfortunately, taking and or posting pictures is NOT part of that expertise. My apologies. All I can tell ya about em is that it was some one else' idea, and he bought em on line from Drag Specialties which is where I bought mine from shortly after.Try the Drag Specialties website or Fast Eddy.He usually has an in for things like those mirrors. Dave!!!

Anyway, I guess what I really was wondering is if the mirror mounts are a standard type or not. Do you happen to recall a part number?
Thanks again, Dan

| Posted : 13 Nov 2015 - 19:07 Post title : Re: Mirrors (Re: drhach) | | I recall I replaced the mirrors on an America for the same reason years ago. I just recall they were Yamaha mirrors. looked good and solved the problem.
Another option are the small stick on spotter mirrors placed on the end of the stock mirror. . I have those and they work quite well once you get past the "how the hell will these help" mindset.

And I don't have the part numbers cause I bought those over 5 years ago. They guy that turned me on to those mirrors used to belong here,so there might be some pictures of his Tbird in the archives or early posts when this site first came into existence. Sorry i couldn't be of more help!!
