Cool

So where do you find a road like that with such little traffic?

I think he scared himself at least once

Exactly. If he rides like that often it's a matter of time. No matter how good a rider, at that speed there no possible way to avoid a road hazard thats enough to take you out, which at that speed could even be a squirrel. In the local twistes around here there are lots of guys that ride that crazy and the result used to be that literally almost every time i'd ride there they would be at least one incident where they would be pulling a body up from a ravine or peeling one of a mountain side. And you see a lot of crosses where people's families have marked the place they died.

Road hazards are scary and often unavoidable even going slow. But at that speed no crash is going to be a fender bender and a few scrapes and cuts.

No doubt. Trees and rocks are hard. We are soft. Hopefully he's alive long enough to figure out that they call them accidents because no one saw it coming.

I've just been having that kinda fun on twisty high mountain roads. The speed he was doing was fairly ordinary for some of the bikes on the high passes ... people travel there from all over to go nuts! My Super Tenere is excellent on those roads but I now want something a little smaller but quicker. The bike that's ticking most of the boxes right now is the BMW S1000XR ... if I can convince my self that a shaft drive isn't absolutely necessary on my touring machines (very difficult for me to accept as I've now had ten shafties) I'll be ordering one for delivery next spring then it's back to the Alps for phase II.

Need it! Want it ...

If ya want a really clear example of just how out of control it is, consider this.....had this guy been the one that hit that bear at that speed instead of member sbsdc. Scary thought.

Hey, thanks for the mention Daz. That bear incident was at about 25 MPH (and breaking immediately upon sight). I was going the posted speed limit on a road that I had never been on. I'll be the first to admit the freak nature of it, and how lucky I was to be riding at such a slow speed when that bear pulled out in front of me. Can't say I always ride that slow and easy though. I'm sure you take advantage of that big bore too. The T-Bird may not be a sport bike, and you may not be a squid, but I'll bet you like to let Brutus out for a good run too.

Really !? I swear the video looks like you're going more like 50-60 MPH. 25 is really surprising. I would never have guessed less than maybe 45 bare minimum. But when i first saw it i wondered about the speed and guessed 60 MPH !

Well you guessed wrong, my friend. Perhaps the GoPro video is deceiving, but it I assure you I was riding no faster than 30 MPH. Glad I wasn't riding at 60 MPH. If I was, I would have cut that baby bear in two! Luckily he was able to scamper off. I know that my T-Bird did some damage to him (his blood was on my boot) but hopefully he had enough baby fat to protect him and keep him alive.

Just imagine within a millisecond my thoughts went from oh wow, cool a bear - to - oh sh*t, a f*ckin' bear! (and he's crossing my path!!)
