I am hoping that someone here who has a Triumph Longhaul Solo Seat can take a few measurements of their seat and post the results. I am curious how much of a difference there is between the LH & a Mustang Seat.

The Mustang seat has one additional measurement that I posted below that differs from the LH.

The measurements of my Mustang seat are as follows:
A- 12.5"
B- 12.5"
C- 14.5" measured from seam to seam, 16" measured at edge of seat to opposite edge.
D- 3"
E- 1.5"
F- 5"

One thing that makes the comparison a bit more apples-to-orange than apples-to-apples is that the longhaul solo (and dual) does not have the L-shaped seat pocket of the Mustang. So lines A and (especially) F are a somewhat false comparison, given that the there is no substantive break on the angling of the longhaul seat as there is w/ the Mustang...yes, there is a seam and a transition in the longhaul but comparatively speaking it's essentially just one long one-size-fits-all rise from front to back.

I believe that your point is valid. With the near vertical back on the Mustang seat the riders rear is pushed further forward than it would be on the LH. Based on pictures alone, it also appears that measurement "A" is greater on the LH than the Mustang. If this is the case, than the two items combined would mutually reduce leg clearance for taller riders such as myself.

I just purchased a Mustang seat based on all of the positive comments about this seat. I have to admit the foam and surface material is vastly better than the stock seat that Ii have, and the back support is nice. However, I am still trying to determine if the increased comfort is worth the legroom sacrifice. On the stock seat (without the pillion pad mounted) I would typically sit all the way back on the seat which significantly increases the angle of my knees compared to my Mustang seat. It is primarily due to my knee problems why I ride cruisers instead of other bikes (I really like sport tourers but my knees hate them).

If I can get an increased angle on my knees with the LH seat, I may sacrifice a little seat comfort of the Mustang.

I would really like to see some measurements before I buy another seat that my be somewhat similar to what I already have.

Having had both seats IMO the Mustang is a far superior product. It does push you forward a little bit, but the trade off is well worth that half inch to one inch difference. On the long haul I would squirm and look for a new position after 45 minutes. On the Mustang I have so much more support that I can sit for hours. You have to decide if keeping that inch or so is as important as your nuts being comfortable. Besides if you do highway riding you can always invest in highway pegs and stretch out all you want.

Was your LH a one or two piece? Do you still have it? If you still have it, would you please post measurements?

Not sure if that is directed toward me or not, but yes, I had the longhaul before I bought the Mustang. Mine was the one piece. I no longer have it, as I sold it to help finance the Mustang, So cannot provide any measurements. That said, however, I can assure you that you will have less legroom with the mustang then you will with the long haul since it moves you forward an inch or two. As the above poster indicates, though, it's all about priorities: Either you can have the extraordinary comfort of the mustang, or you can have your legs slightly more stretched out with the longhaul.

I was actually replying to Satch. If memory serves me correct, he still has a solo LH that he had "Spencerized".

Cap, I no longer have the solo long haul. The one I had moded by Spencer was the stock solo and I still have that one.

I now remember you posting that in another thread. I guess my memory isn't serving me so well .

Hopefully, someone with a solo LH will post some measurements.

Thanks for posting the measurements. I guess the pictures that I have seen are somewhat deceptive. I really thought the dimensions for A & B would be greater than that.
