I just recently bought a 2012 Thunderbird moving up from a 2011 Speedmaster.
I'm now on the hamster wheel of adding accessories and just installed the National Cycle Switchblade Deflector to test our it's effectiveness. I went through the same thing with the Speedmaster so I realize it's a bit of a trial and error exercise.
My question is to those who own a switchblade, and the advertised easy of removal, is does anyone use any type of theft protection like cable ties or anything to stop anyone from that same ease of removal, and walking away with your windshield?

But I'm not that bright. There are lots of things, basically mechanical, that I understand and can do effortlessly, but this computer stuff, unfortunately,is NOT one of em. I'm old school and lucky I can type posts on here, let a lone pictures.DUH!!!

Wondered about needing a lock but found that if the mounting bobbins on the forks aren't perfectly aligned the screen will not pop-off without having the correct allan-key to loosen them anyway.
Also, although I bought it just for the longer runs, and expected to leave it off around town, it's now been on the bike fulltime for over a year.
| Colin Chapman once said: "If you add horsepower you'll be quick on the straight,...but if you remove weight you'll be quicker everywhere.." ....so why in hell did I buy a Thunderbird...!!!

I suppose the stars could align and another Switchblade owner who needs a new windshield and has sticky fingers could happen upon mine while I'm away from my bike...but the likelihood is so small it's never occurred to me to worry about it.
