He has taken apart and modified enough Triumph seats to know. The Triumph stock seats are designed to aesthetically enhance the bike. That's it. The stockers are just some foam. The so called long haul seats - whether you have a solo or a dual - is just more foam. After an hour in the saddle you'll feel that familiar scrotum burn. Now if you wanna do some nice tours and keep the wife happy you should get the Mustang set up. Best money I spent for my bike. You can get the solo with a separate passenger seat that you slap on when she decides to two-up with you, or get the dual seat to leave on the bike full time which is all one contiguous piece. The mustangs come with stabilizers and supports that keep you comfy for a long time. Remember that soft does not mean comfortable. It is support that counts. I am 225 pounds and never not comfortable in my saddle with the Mustang. This is my setup. I have the solo with a separate Fehling rider back rest. I also have the separate passenger seat addition in the event my wife ever wants to ride with me.

The Corbin for a dual touring seat is about $493 and for the Mustang $458. I've always heard it takes a while to break in a Corbin.

For the Corbins it is 50/50 (Happy/Unhappy)... For the mustangs it is more like 90% happy - including me. Lots of guys have said that the Corbins are too hard and take too long to break in. The mustangs are at that nexuus of comfort and support. I was not a believer until I had one - afraid to spend the big dough until I got a deal on a slighly used one. You won't be dissapointed.
