Hi there

I have just come across this site as I am bought myself a Thunderbird Storm about 3 months ago and I am now looking for some options to fit to the bike. I know this has been asked a few times about hard panniers from these bikes but most options seem to be in the US.

I was wondering if there is any options in the UK but if I have to get from the US then far enough.

I am looking for Hard Panniers for long trips with a Pillion so guessing I am going to need around 40ish ltrs of space.
Not that bothered if you cant put a helmet in them but guessing that size you would be able to.
Guessing all the options out there will use there Easy Brackets I keep coming across.

Any help with some options would be great.

Thanks.

Hi Luke, welcome aboard!
After lots of looking and many suggestions (which you'll find if you search "hard bags" or "panniers"), these look like a good choice to me: Link Many other types on this site, but the Coners look best to me (IMHO).

Oh yes 'Tsukayu' that's the one. Great panniers get about 10 kg in each. they have followed me around for the last 10000 miles. I added the handles on top so I could carry one in each hand. Our lass still has plenty of room. Good and secure and dry too.

Just looked at your location and made me laugh how you wrote it

Did you go for the standard Strong Hardbags or the quick release version and I am guessing you mounted with easy brackets?

Don't overlook the Hardstreet bags. Lots of gents (term used very loosely...especially for that guy RatDog) have them here.

I have been using the Tsukayu bags for a couple of years. Highly recommended! My first set was the standard "strong bag.' I used the included permanent mounting system. When I had to replace them (due to someone running into my bike!) I got the "EZ Bracket" version. These are a little bit bigger simply because they have a smooth back side instead of recessed. The smooth/flat back makes it easier to use the EZ Brackets.

My only suggestion is to avoid the Vinyl Covered version. The vinyl tears pretty easily.

Otherwise, these are great panniers. Strong, relatively light, water-tight, and spacious. (I got everything I needed into them for a 7,000 mile, 15-day trip.) The curves also look GREAT on the Storm!

Hi, I put Hepko & Becker Junior boxes on mine. They lock on and off very easily and make good luggage. The German firm will send you boxes with frames specifically designed for the T bird. NB if you have the Triumph Cissy Bar you'll need to get the corners ground off to fit with the box frames - that's easy enough if you have an angle grinder.
