Are the TOR pipes that everyone is talking about the Triumph Off Road pipes? TOR for short.
Now everyone stop laughing. I said it might be a dumb question but I really don't know.
You all can kick me later but I'm new to this stuff.

Thanks

You a genius!

and yes, those are the gems.

I'm not even sure if they're going by that for the TBird. I know they did for my Bonnie. I've seen the TBirds as High Flow Silencers, "for off road use only" or some other blather.

Just so you don't feel that dumb, your not the only one, you just asked, whereas I haven't. I'm still not 100% on it. And I even asked the dealer but didn't get a clear answer. As NCBirdman says I think for the Tbird they call them High Flow Silencer Kit, long or short. The dealer said a new fuel injection map will be uploaded with them when I get the big bore kit, high flow silencer kit long and performance filter installed. So I guess restating for my own understanding is this the same as what people are saying when they are getting the TOR downloaded. Or is the TOR download yet something else I should be requesting be done while they have it?? Thanks for asking.

He who asks a question is dumb for a few moments. He who never asks remains dumb forever.

No offence thunderdude - just something I learnt a long time ago.

Its not a dumb question at all . If I was on a quantum physics forum Id be asking stuff I dont know as well.

Anyway while this is active as a thread what do you think we are gona have to do in 2 years time when we all have to start
having MOT tests ect. Obviously I am keeping my stocks for just such an emergancy and I asked the dealer about it. The guy
didnt really know if the pipes will be acceptable for the MOT tests or not . Triumph havnt said anything.

Are the TORs listed as off road only use? Dosnt show that on the configure my triumph I dont think .

Ok checked it . Due to what Trumpet say on their description I wont be taking them off for MOT ect.

This is their description

High Gloss, triple plated chrome accessory silencers featuring shortened Tapered bodys with slash cut outlets.

Revised internals to enable improved gas flow resulting in improvements in Torque & horsepower, combined with a deeper more aggressive exhaust note.

Supplied complete with all required gaskets, replacement heatshield covers to match revised profile and specific engine tune download.

So nothing about, only for off road use . Also they are not called TOR's they are indeed "High flow silencer"

So Triumph have stated they are road legal because they have not said they are not.

well you either
run the bike stock... yawn
or run the bike the way you want to for 11 months and almost a month

when your mot is due either
change the bike back to stock
or get your dealer to sort it

voila... faffy but very simple

What part # is that? What year? Triumph's web page shows part # A9618052 for the long
pipes and part# A9618050 for the short pipes

Probably the # for that pipe alone. The kit would have the other number.

nothing comes up if you put the part number into the triumph instruction search.... even if you alter the # for an A
