Sounds like fun hope they've not salted the roads. Don't like the look of that snow shit though ...

Not many of the roads salted but plenty of debris on the roads. Farmers trimming the hedge rows, mud being carried on to the roads.
Biggest obstacle was the sun so low in the sky difficult to make out the road in places.

Yup!! I just came in from alittle ride I took this mornin myself.[100 miles] The temp was a pleasant 40*,the sun was shin, the sky was blue, the roads were clear of the recent snow we had,not to mention, very little salt dust, and I didn't have to plug in my lectrics. However,I did NOT see any other bikes out. They're all WIMPS!!! Dave!!!

This weekend I had the first encounter with snow this winter, also with f*** salt.
It was chilly but fun. Put my Rukka gear on (and my sunglasses), didn't feel cold at all. But as you said, no other bikes on the road....
Cheers

Yup!! Doncha just love it when the roads get covered with salt?? The salt dust alone makes the bike look like shit and raises hell with the chrome, the aluminum, and finish on the paint! And because of that, I installed a hot water faucet on the outside of my house "specifically" to rinse the salt off my vehicles. So that hot water faucet has paid me dividends cause if ya don't rinse em off, that's when the problems start!! Infact, after my ride yesterday,my scooter was coated with salt dust,so I rinsed it off this morning with the hot water and she looks half ways decent again.Dave!!!

Yes Dave, I hate the salt.
Unfortunately I don't have a water supply at my garage. On the way back from a ride I usually pass by a car washing place with high pressure wash and wash off the salt and crap. It's also done with warm water. But the place is closed on sundays
Still fun to ride in winter!
Cheers
Elmar

I used to hose mine off after my daily commute (during the salting periods) I don't have to do it now cos I don't have to commute no more ... now I was informed, by a chap with some standing and with way more smarts than me, that using warm water on salt was one off the worst things you can do as it promotes the corrosion process ... don't know

FYI: Do "NOT" use HIGH PRESSURE, especially a PRESSURE WASHER to wash any motorcycle.I learned that the hard way many years ago,yet I have noticed many STEALERSHIPS doin it these days to clean up used bikes. What they don't realize is they're doing damage to the machine. That high pressure FORCES water into places you can NOT believe and that's when the PROBLEMS START. It cost me a lot of money to replace electrical components and wheel bearings when I was using a pressure washer to clean my bikes during the winter months.I have since learned. DUH!! Not so dumb, Dave!!!

Dave, one more reason for you to leave the frozen tundra of Mass.
It will be a bone chilling 65 degrees down here for Christmas

Believe it or not Satch,we've only had one snow fall so far this winter, amounting to 5 inches here in NE Mass, which melted away a few days later.Since then, all we've had is rain, which is fine with me.Plus the temps have been staying above the freezing mark during these rain falls. However, right after the last rain fall we had,the temps dropped to the freezing point, bringing out the salt trucks. But to date,it hasn't been a bad winter at all.The temp outside right now is 40* and raining lightly. So maybe this winter will be better then the others we've had.I know!! Wishfull thinking. Dave!!!

At least you guys can get out in the winter sometimes, around these parts your weather is darn near T-shirt weather, even though, we use gravel and sand here and not salt, so even if one did get out it would be like getting shot at every other mile or so LOL, not good.
