I can see 'em buried in there - assume they have clips of some sort, something holding these connectors to motor?
Trying to remove RH header, everything's loose or D/C'd except (red) O2 sensor which I hope will come out with pipe, if I can disconnect the dang thing.

Appreciate any 'how-to' suggestions - thanks!

Surely somebody has D/C'd O2 sensors under motor, no?

I can't speak for the Tbird as I haven't had to remove an O2 sensor on it YET,only cars and trucks I've worked on over the years. But basically, all ya can do is follow the lead from the O2 until ya find the connector, unclipping the harness as ya go along, then decifer how it unplugs once ya find it.It should be pretty straight forward. If you're gonna remove the O2 sensor itself,ya might have ta heat it with a small Benzomatic torch, heating only the pipe where base of the sensor screws into it.Then NEVER SEIZE the threads on the sensor BEFORE ya screw it back in.The next guy that removes it might be you. They screw into the header. To get them out you have to remove that little shield around the sensor via a 8 mm nut. then you can get to the hex area on the sensor to unscrew it. Then there is a cable from the sensor which plugs into a socket that itself is clipped to the engine just above the crossover pipe. Those clips that clip the sockets to metal bracket on the engine are a total bitch to remove. You have to get a small tool like a tiny flathead screwdriver or such in there to push a tab to release the socket. It's s contortionist's nightmare and hard to see or feel what you're doing. Once thats released it comes off the engine and then the plug from the sensor can be released from the socket. I did it many times and it's never gotten easier.

Aw, thank you Daz!
Don't wanna break anything, I know the connectors (at harness) clip together, but can't get 'em free of motor. That's the problem. Should be something like this, once I get to it:

I'm sure removing sensors from pipes will be every bit the pain that Dave says it is - but first I have to get at that connector. Would be nice if clips/retainers were on bottom where I could see 'em...... Looks like blade/tool has to slip in parallel to connector and above it. Will go fishing for it and see if I can document this process while I'm at it (nothing about connectors in shop manual that I can find).

Thank you, gentlemen!

I found the easiest way to disconnect was to remove the plugs with the bracket they are mounted to. From memory the bracket is secured with 2 screws. Once the bracket is free it was easier to unplug.

No, thats the easy part. Simply remove the 8mm bolt that holds the shield on and with a crescent or open end wrench (*not sure of the size) unscrew the sensor. It's that easy, no obstacles, nothing. It's those damn clips that are a bitch. But NAH said the brackets that hold the clips can be removed via bolts, so if thats true, then assuming they are easier to get to than the clips that could make it all much easier. Wish i knew that before. But now i just leave them off and they aren't going back till i sell the bike, if i ever do.

Once an O2 sensor has been in place for awhile, they are bastards to remove, atleast in the automotive world.Don't ask how I know. The automotive world has the same tread as the spark plugs do in the cars and trucks. So it would be logical to assume, the motorcycle world would do the same.Anyways, if you do remove one, make sure you never seize those threads, otherwise, they may NOT come out again. NAH is correct, bracket mounts with two 10mm bolts, but they're no picnic either. Last resort.....

Top of cable connector bracket, the side you can't see without removal:

Bracket retains connectors for RH and LH oxygen sensor cables, sidestand switch, and also has a tab/retainer for clutch cable (out of frame). Connectors are secured to bracket by spring-steel latches.
Arrow points to the end of latch on LH oxygen sensor connector. Pull latch down, toward connector, and slide connector off bracket.
Shows RH oxygen sensor connector (with red band) removed from bracket. Two halves of connector may now be separated.

Would be nice to see some of this in the manual.....
Don't think this is the AMP connector I posted above; this is a 4-position connector. And a royal pain.
