Of course removing spam is much appreciated but that's the problem. Members shouldn't be bombarded with Shit. It's disruptive, a turnoff and could end the forum (slow death)! I'm sure Thunderbird FB doesn't have this problem.

We have talked ad nauseam about spam. But it's important to note, it will ruin (if not already) the Forum. ...see this screenshot, you tell me what's inviting to potential members!

If you have a solution, let's hear it.

Some sort of 2-stage registration for new users? Waiting period prior to approval? Require a VIN number? Block phone numbers and/or key words in posts? Prevent multiple posts? Photo ID? Hire a full-time moderator? If you think FacePlant doesn't have a variety of spam problems, you're dead wrong. It might be the worst of all web sites.

In a perfect world we wouldn't be swamped with robocalls, junk mail, email scams and the like, but here we are. Sometimes all one can do is throw it out and cleanup afterward, since there doesn't seem to be any way to prevent such things. It's a shame, since there's a wealth of info on this site re the T-Bird - which has gone extinct, yet another sad development. Don't expect we'll see a flood of new users here anytime soon.
Bravo to Bedouin for keeping it alive this long.

"If you have a solution, let's hear it". ...it's not my responsibility to run this site, fwiw I made suggestions in the past. I do like your suggestion "Some sort of 2-stage registration for new users." but that probably won't happen. And I never saw false IDs, counterfeit money and illicit drugs advertised on FB! Anyway let's hope Thunderbird1600 forum lives on!

I have messaged Bedouin again, this is getting ridiculous.

I get the notion Bedouin is extremely busy these days and things, interests do change. I wish him and family well!

...a website without an onboard manager or owner can be challenging to all, it's like a ship without a rudder. I wonder if Bedouin will pass the torch. He's done a masterful job and I salute him.

And I don't consider the Thunderbird 'extinct' and a reason for the Forum's decline. You can point the finger to ongoing security and maintenance issues. The Thunderbird is a classic!

"No good deed goes unpunished."
Thank you Bedouin for being first and foremost in support of the new 1600 T-Bird.

Two suggestions:
New member can only post once in 24 hours.
Limit subject line to 40 characters (and/or disallow ReturnKey in subject line).

And.... Maybe fix the thumbnail error?

I have sent Bedouin another PM regarding this (as anyone can) but it hasn't been read yet.

I'm not sure if he reads all posts ( doubt that very much) so maybe PM him with your ideas.

I was under the impression that site maintenance had been delegated to an anonymous member. Don't know if that's true, but it would lighten the load on our Fearless Leader. I think Bedouin may have moved on to other things.

Can't imagine these lowlife spammers gain anything by being a pain in the ass.

I have messaged Bedouin a lot in the last week and he has always responded quickly plus deleting the spammers. Some control was given to a member but that person doesn't seem to visit as often as he used to.

Well, whoever is doing cleanup, please take a look-see at "Shawn14" and his Meet the Members post. The dumbass left his email address in his bogus post. If anybody has a suitable computer virus, you know what to do....
