The hookup was easy just find switched power souce, I used one of the wires to my tail light and plug the other connector into the diagnostic port then teach it the gears. I was able to run it while on my floor jack, but you can also do it while riding. I mounted it with a chrome universal handle bar mounts for clocks. Picture to come.

As you may know or not know - you can not 'tilt' up the tank if you have the TT-Bars fitted! So I decided to remove the tank totally so I could work more freely and also have a closer look at the thermostat and hose / clamps for locating the origin of my drizzle syndrome that I seem to have picked up since my BB-Kit installation...
I hasten to say - if you do have the TT-Bars fitted you wouldn't really need to pull the tank off. You could get away with the little amount you can tilt it, but removing it just helps you understand your bike better
OK - so I rode the `Bird until I had 10 km to Zero remaining in the tank. This made the lifting of it soooooooooooo much easier than when I had previously tried a couple of days before, fully tanked. So much so, that my little lad Stefano could lift it for me while I disconnected things underneath.
So the evening went something like: - disconnected the battery --- NOTE: If you are an engineer of any kind and like your 'numbers' and 'statistics' - note them down before you disconnect the battery! - removed (disconnected) the chrome speed/rev display - pulled the side covers off - slightly lifted the tank to mark the two electrical cables (fuel pump & fuel level sensor) connected to the under side (helps when refitting - especially if you have a memory like mine) - pulled the breather hose off and unhooked it from it's fittings on the underside of the tank. - disconnected the fuel line. --- NOTE: get a little (empty!!!!) jam-jar to collect about 1 dl of fuel that is still in the pipe line and tank fitting when you disconnect the fuel line! - removed the tank:
- Routed the indicator placing (looping) the excessive wire towards the indicator side of the cable: -- I did this so that if I should ever want to relocate the indicator I simply have to raise the tank a little and I can un-loop the cable and re fit -- You can also see in the picture where I was about to fit the indicator
INTERESTING TO KNOW While I was fitted the cable I saw where my drizzle was coming from! I'll post a picture or two more in the drizzle thread.
- plugged the GIPro socket into the bikes diagnostic plug and cable-tied them together - extended the power cable so that I could reach the fuse box on the other side of the bike - spliced the cable into the ignition power line (fuse position 10) --- NOTE: The plugs that hold the fuse box in place are a royal PITA. I cut them out and refitted the box with cable-ties.
- refitted the tank and all other disconnected items - raised & started the bike to program the GIPro indicator. END!
Then it was time for the evening meal - followed by a test ride to the local tank station - fill up and ride back. By that time it was dark, but here is a (poor quality) picture from MY POINT OF VIEW when sat in the saddle:
So now all I have to do is cut off (trim down) the length of the indicator mount I made:
EDIT: So I've trimmed down the mounting strip:
And here's the view point in day light:

Next time I'm planning on doing a mod I'm going to make you do it first and document it so it's easier for me.

I didn't really want to make a show of it! Descreet and functional - that's what I was going for... Plus the white display is VERY bright at night and the last thing I wanted was a bright light close to my line of view. Where it is now it is hidden away and there when I want to know.
I want to try keep the handle bars clean and free.
BTW I've updated my last post with NEW PHOTOS!!!!

I wasn't too sure when you threw in your lot with the GIpro but I think you tucked it away enough that it doesn't mess things up. I'm good with not having one but if I were to do it I'd tuck it away as well..... though I'm not sure I would of thought of that location. Good job
